Installing Uniface

The installation program copies the directories, files, and executables required to run Rocket® Uniface, and configures them to run out-of-the box.

Note:  When installing Uniface 10 for the first time, always install it into a clean directory or library. For the Rocket® Uniface Enterprise Edition, do not install over an existing Uniface installation.

Uniface supports many different platforms, but not all products and functionality are available on each platform, so check the installation requirements for each product.

The products installed depend on the Uniface edition and platform that you have. For details on supported platforms and products, see the Platform Availability Matrix.

After installation, you can change the default configuration to suit your environment. For more information, see Configuring Uniface and Uniface Applications.

For information on configuring database and network connectors, and other integration support, see Database Connectors and Support for Distributed Applications, and your database documentation.

For products that work with Uniface, such as databases, web servers, and so on, consult your database and third-party product documentation. For other products supplied with Uniface, such as Uniface DLM, consult the instructions provided in the Uniface distribution.

The readme file contains additional information about installation and configuration. This information takes precedence over the current documentation.
